Privacy
This website collects very little. Benevolent Anarchy does not use it to follow you around, advertise to you or build a profile about you. It processes only information you choose to send and the essential technical data needed to deliver and protect the site.
Who controls your data
The data controller is Cicely Christiane Fischer, a sole trader registered in Sweden and trading as Benevolent Anarchy. For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact page or write to [email protected].
No behavioural tracking
Benevolent Anarchy does not use audience analytics, tracking pixels, advertising systems, user accounts, newsletter forms or comments on this website.
Information submitted through the site is not used for marketing, behavioural profiling or automated decision-making.
Contact form
If you use the Contact page, Benevolent Anarchy receives:
- your email address;
- the enquiry category you select;
- your subject and message; and
- the name, nickname or pseudonym you provide, if you choose to provide one.
This information is used only to deliver, route, answer and manage the correspondence.
The legal basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Those interests are receiving and answering voluntary enquiries, managing the resulting correspondence, protecting the form from abuse and keeping limited records needed to operate the studio.
This use is not expected to override your rights because you choose whether to make contact and what to include, and the information is not used for advertising or profiling.
Providing the information is voluntary. You are not legally or contractually required to use the form. Without an email address, enquiry category, subject and message, however, the form cannot deliver the enquiry and Benevolent Anarchy cannot answer it. The preferred-name field is optional.
Cloudflare processes the form request, performs the Turnstile abuse check and handles delivery of the resulting email. The delivered message is stored in Benevolent Anarchy’s Google Workspace mailbox.
Cloudflare’s email-delivery activity log is configured not to retain the contents of the message. The website itself does not keep a separate copy in a database. Ordinary technical and delivery metadata may still be logged as described below.
Messages are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the correspondence and retain legitimate studio records. You can use the Contact page to ask about your correspondence or request its deletion.
Essential security processing
Cloudflare delivers this website and protects it from malicious or automated traffic.
The Contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile evaluates technical information about the request and browser environment to distinguish people from automated abuse.
Cloudflare may also perform JavaScript security checks and set strictly necessary cookies such as cf_clearance. These allow a browser that has passed a security check to avoid being challenged repeatedly.
Benevolent Anarchy does not use this processing to analyse visitor behaviour, advertise to visitors or track them across websites.
Cloudflare describes its security cookies as strictly necessary. Cookie data may, by default, be processed in Cloudflare data centres in the United States. Cloudflare’s cookie documentation contains current details.
Ordinary technical logs
Cloudflare and Google Workspace may create technical logs while delivering pages, checking the form and handling email.
Depending on the service and request, these logs may include:
- an IP address;
- browser or user-agent information;
- the requested page or path;
- the date and time; and
- email-delivery metadata.
Benevolent Anarchy does not use these logs to build visitor profiles or track people across websites.
Cloudflare and Google may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Their data-processing terms provide safeguards, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses where required.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in data-protection law, you may have the right to:
- access personal data held about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request erasure or restriction of its use; and
- object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Data portability will not normally apply because the processing described here is based on legitimate interests rather than consent or a contract.
Use the contact details above to make a request. Benevolent Anarchy may ask for enough information to confirm that the data belongs to you before acting on it.
If you believe your personal data has been handled unlawfully, you also have the right to complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), or another competent data-protection authority in the European Economic Area.
Subject to the conditions in data-protection law, you have the right to access your personal data and to ask for rectification, erasure or restriction of its use. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability does not normally apply here because this processing is based on legitimate interests rather than consent or a contract.
Direct email and external links
Using the direct email link opens your own email application and bypasses the website form and Turnstile check. The resulting message is still delivered to Benevolent Anarchy’s Google Workspace mailbox.
Links to external services such as Bluesky and Patreon take you away from this website. Those services have their own privacy practices, which Benevolent Anarchy does not control.
